1891, Barletta
Grandfather Salvatore's dream.
In 1891, Salvatore Paparella, patriarch of the family, chose the fertile soils of Barletta in northern Puglia to build an olive oil of his own, first meant only for his family, combining bold flavor with the highest quality. The land became inspiration, and the dream became a livelihood, passed from father to son ever since.
From dream to LÓLIO
Roots and tradition, meeting innovation.
Beneath centuries-old olive trees in the heart of the Tavoliere di Puglia, tradition intertwined with innovation in processing and a careful selection of the finest fruit. That care shaped LÓLIO, today one of the most awarded Apulian extra virgin olive oils in the world.
Today
130 years, and one of the world's most awarded EVOOs.
Frantoio Paparella now presses 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil from a facility of over 5,000 square meters in Barletta, between the Ofanto valley and the plains of the Tavoliere di Puglia, carrying Italy's extra virgin heritage to more than 20 countries worldwide.
